I’m Brittany and I am a fifth-year electrical engineering student. I joined Sunstang in my third year because of my interest in renewable energy and electric vehicles. As project manager this year I am excited to help the team reach their full potential and set us up for years to come. Outside of school and club work I enjoy participating in different engineering traditions and playing intramural sports like ultimate frisbee or inner tube water polo.
My name is Erika and I am in my third year of environmental engineering. I joined Sunstang last year as I am passionate about sustainability and have an interest in the development of green technologies (solar cars!!). A fun fact about me is that I enjoy playing squash in my free time.
My name is Viraaj and I'm a fifth year electrical engineering student. I joined sunstang 2 years ago to be part of an engineering team that applies and goes beyond what we learn in the classroom through hands-on experience. Something which drove my interest towards Sunstang is my interest in formula one and the engineering that goes into those cars.
My name is Taylor and I am studying Mechanical Engineering, in my fourth year (fifth with Co-op). I originally joined Sunstang as it gave me a unique experience to really push myself as a new member and further my experience and knowledge in car design and solar energy. The exposure with Sunstang gave me the ability to further my love for race car engineering and mechanical design, which is why I am so excited for this year as Mechanical VP.
My name is Abdul Kassem and I am in my second year of mechatronics engineering at Western. I joined Sunstang because I saw a lot of potential to create a long-lasting impact through external affairs. My goal is to make it so that money is not a limiting factor in the club's operations.
I am in my second year in Chemical Engineering. I joined Sunstang because I had a great time working within the Internal Affairs Team last year, and I wanted to be able to continue creating more initiatives within the club, and work on having Sunstang be more widely known among the engineering community.
Hey my name is Kristine and I am doing my HBA 1 this year but my engineering discipline is chemical engineering! I joined Sunstang in my first year because of my interest in renewable energy and because the team gives students the opportunity to get great hands-on engineering experience. When I’m not busy with school I enjoy drawing and spending time outdoors!
My name’s Finn Hafting and I’m a fourth year mechatronic systems engineering student at Western University. I’m a strong advocate for sustainable technology and renewable energy and Sunstang is the perfect combination of these two ideas. When I’m not doing schoolwork or working on our 2023 vehicle, you can find me at our local rock climbing gym!
I am in my final year of Electrical Engineering. I joined Sunstang because of my interest in electric vehicles and solar technology. A fun fact about me is I play chess and have been playing for three years.
My name is Christian, and I am in my fourth year of mechanical and biomedical engineering! I chose to join Sunstang because I wanted to participate in an environment where I could apply my knowledge and understand how class concepts are used in real world applications! Sunstang is a great club to do that within because all team members bring diverse backgrounds and share their knowledge to produce an awesome solar car! Within engineering, my interests are in increasing system efficiencies, alternative energy sources, and big machines! Away from school, there is a good chance you will find me playing hockey somewhere!
Hi my name is Zohan and I am in my fourth year of Mechanical Engineering. I joined Sunstang due to my interest in applying engineering knowledge to real-life electric vehicles. In addition, I am excited to bring technical and hands-on manufacturing experiences to the team. My goal is to see Sunstang thrive, pass down knowledge to new members, and compete in the Solar Car Competition. Outside work, I spend my time jamming, biking, skiing, fishing, and hanging out with friends. Long story short, I am super stoked along with the rest of the team for this upcoming year!
I’m Kevin the aerodynamics lead for this year, currently I am on a 16-month co-op at L3 Harris but I will be entering my fourth year of mechanical engineering in 2023. Joining Sunstang in my first year, the main thing that stood out to me about the team was how they gave new members the largest opportunities to learn and take on their own projects in helping with the construction of the car. Outside of Sunstang I enjoy spending time outdoors camping and practicing archery.
